The FAO Fisheries and Aquaculture Department is developing guidelines for small-scale fisheries - this week representatives in New Caledonia will run a regional workshop on the issue. FAO wants to work with fishing communities and organizations to create guidelines that will promote sustainable small-scale fisheries.
